Seven Playground Programs, with free lunches, are available to all Lakewood children ages 6 to 15 Mondays through Fridays July 6 through August 13, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. No Fees. Parents can register and meet the Playground Staff June 15 at 6:00pm in the Lakewood High School cafeteria. Parents may also register at any of the following playgrounds: Clifton Avenue School, Hearthstone, Larry D'Zio Park, Clarke School, Pine Park, Reverend Clayton Park and Spruce Street School. Each site is staffed with experienced adult supervisors who have designed a variety of enjoyable activities for your child. On days of inclement weather the playgrounds will be closed, listen to WOBM for closing information. Although supervision is provided, your child is free to leave the playground at any time.

Soccer Co-Ed
Instructional Program for ages 4 thru 12 yrs. Monday & Wednesday at the John Patrick Sports Complex. Age 4-7, 5:00 to 6:00 pm, age 7-9, 6:00 to 7:00 pm, 10 – 12, 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Registration June 22, Lakewood High School cafeteria at 7:00 pm. Program runs July 6 to July 14 . $10 registration fee.
Music Camp - Instructional
A three week fun-filled program Mondays thru Fridays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. At Lakewood High School from June 29 to July 16. Available for students in grades 4 to 12. Features group rehearsals and sectionals for all wind, string, percussion instruments and beginners' lessons. An excellent opportunity to start a new instrument. Music videos and free lunches also included. Fee: Residents $5 fee; non-residents $100 fee. Pre-registration required. Music Camp Concerts
Come hear the finished product. The Lakewood Summer Rec. Band will be giving concerts at the following locations: on July 15 at the Amphitheater at 11:00 am., at Pine Park on July 22ND at 7:00 pm., and at School #5 playground on July 16 at 9:00am. All concerts are free.
Cattus Island Pontoon Boat Tour
Cattus Island Pontoon Boat Tours of lovely Barnegat Bay, the Bird Sanctuary and much more. Free bus to and from Cattus Island boat dock and Cattus Island Tour. Tennis Courts - Open Play
The Pine Park Tennis Courts are available for your pleasure when not utilized by the Recreation Program for instruction. ID cards not required and Lakewood residents have preference over non-residents. Refreshments prohibited on courts. Tennis shoes or sneakers must be worn.

All Lakewood residents, organizations and groups are encouraged to utilize the numerous outdoor facilities of beautiful Pine Park for your functions. Enjoy sheltered picnic areas, ball fields, handball, basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, nature trails and more. Play Areas for Chldren
The Lakewood Township Committee has installed and maintains exceptional, safe play areas throughout the Township for our children including a variety of swings, various slides, climbing apparatus and tubes, and much more. Take advantage of these enjoyable play areas throughout the year: Clifton Avenue School, No. 5 School, Larry D'Zio Park, Frank Bartoff Sports Complex, Sunset Road, Canterbury Road, Hearthstone, Oak Street School, Pine Park, Rev. Clayton Park, Spruce Street School. In addition the Township has installed a state of the art handicapped accessible playground at the Oak Street School, and The Ella G. Clarke School.
Summer Fun Camp
Excellent summer activity for Lakewood children only, ages 3 (by June 1) to 6 yrs. – 9:00 am to 12:00 noon – Mondays thru Fridays – July 6 thru August 13 – School #5 playground. Fee $25 per child. Parents must pre-register children on June 22 at 7:00 pm in the Lakewood High School Cafeteria. Proof of Residency and Age required. Certified Staff. Summer Youth Theatre Workshop
A high quality three week Summer Youth Theatre for students entering grades 5 to 12, with Dramatic Arts Director, Angela Corenblith – Mondays thru Fridays – July 12 to July 30 – 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Lakewood High School – No fee – Registration June 22 at 7:00 pm in the Lakewood High School Cafeteria.
Tee-Ball Clinic & League
Instructional tee ball league for children ages 4 to 7 years only (by July 1) – No Tryouts – Each child placed on a team. Includes clinics and league play at John Patrick Sports Complex. Games and clinics scheduled Monday and Wednesday at 5:00 and 6:30 – July 19 thru August 13. All equipment except gloves will be supplied. $10 fee. Parents must register child on June 22 at 7:00 in the Lakewood High School Cafeteria. Proof of age is required. The popular annual Parents vs. Players Game will be held at the BlueClaws Baseball Stadium August 9, 2010.
Youth - Track Program
Boys and Girls – Age groups(5,6,7),(8,9,10)and 11,12,13 – High School Track – Tuesday & Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm – July 20 to August 12 – Participants will gain a basic knowledge of all track events and compete in a mini track meet – Registration June 22 @ Lakewood High School Cafeteria at 7:00pm– $10 fee.
Golf Instruction 8 to 17 years old

A new and innovative program designed to teach fishing. All the skills needed to become a successful fisherman or
woman. Learn from fishing professionals. All equipment supplied. FREE beginning Saturday July 10 from 10:00am to noon, every Saturday until Aug 14. Meet at Lake Carasaljo Safety Pond (Route 9 and Central Ave).
Police Youth Summer Camp 2010
The Lakewood Police Department will be sponsoring a "Youth Police Camp" the week of August 9 to the 13. This is open to all Lakewood residents ages 10 thru 13. Registration begins May 28 to July 1.
