Notice: JCP&L has implemented its storm and staffing plans to respond to power outages as a result of today's forecasted heavy snowfall and gusting winds. JCP&L crews joined by other First Energy Utility Co., and contractor crews will continue to work throughout the day as long as conditions allow. Customers are encouraged to be prepared for the possibilty of power outages caused by the forecasted high winds and heavy, wet snow. Customers should report downed wires to JCP&L or their local police department. Customers should never go near a downed power power line, even if they think it is no longer carrying electricity. Extra caution should be used in areas where downed lines are tangled in trees or other debris. Lakewood, an area of 26 square miles, has 217 miles of Township streets. The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Township roads and sewers, Township parks and open space, snowplowing of Township streets, leaf and brush collection, garbage and recycling collection and tire, refrigerator and appliances that contain refrigerants collection.

Lakewood Township Mobile311 citizen website has updated the site to allow township residents to communicate directly with the Department of Public Works regarding non-emergency requests and concerns. Citizens can access the site from a computer, phone, or tablet at Citizens accessing the site from a phone or tablet can save the site as an icon, essentially making it an app.
